Day 11: Insanity Asylum: Game Day & Overtime

GET READY TO CUSS SHAUN T OUT!
Game day takes you on an Athletic Journey: Track and Field, Tennis, Basketball, Volley Ball, Swimming, Surfing, Football, Soccer, Rock Climbing, Mountain Climbing and Baseball: ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! I loved this. It kept me thinking the whole time and never was repetitive or boring. The time FLEW BY. He said "Let's stretch" and I thought "ALREADY???"

Game Day: Have NEVER pushed Pause and rewind more in ANY workout EVER! You have to be already warmed up to push through this. Jumping around from the first second, Serious Plyo Strength moves from the FLOOR up, ONE LEG moves, Jump rope...YEAH: YOU THINK YOU KNOW...BUT YOU HAVE NO IDEA!

I MUST say that I surprised MYSELF. 60 minutes of full blown, kick your butt exercise with minimal rest in between. I TOTALLY loved this workout. I only had to cuss at Shaun T about 10 times! :-)
I picked this frame for this video because this one look sums it up! :-)

Day 10: TurboFire 60 and Insanity Asylum Relief.

Today was Day 10 of Insanity: Relief. This workout can be incorporated on any day, as it is a stretching routine. There are a variety of stretches that you hold, some easier than others, to increase your flexibility and to help your body recovery.

I was in need of a Chalene Fix, so I did TurboFire 60 prior to the Relief workout.

Tomorrow is my bday, I'll be 25...again. The workout on Deck is Insanity Asylum: Game Day. From what I've been told its far more difficult than Vertical Plyo. So, for my birthday, I will kick my own ass and jump into the game. I'd love to help you reach YOUR fitness goals. As a Beachbody Coach, I am in a unique position to "coach" you and help you find the perfect workout for you. Go to my page and join my Online SuperGym! :-)
Okay. Here's the video...

Day 4: Insanity Asylum Vertical Plyo

Day 3: Insanity Asylum: Back To Core

Back To Core.....WOW. LOVED the use of the bands and the forced focus on your body. The Lat  Pull Downs with the Bands? LOVED IT. A tip? I placed the ball from the Yoga Booty Ballet between my knees to force myself to keep the thighs tightened. Otherwise I kept loosing focus on my thighs and focused only on my abs. This one had a LOT of  movements that were great NOT just for back or Core, but for MOBILITY. The Rotator Split Lunge? Awesome! The Band Exchange?  all the Hip Up moves? The Reverse Plank? Love, Love, Love!
This workout was all about Focus and your mind/muscle connection....Shaun T says at one point " The work doesn't start until the pain starts." You will need to keep this in mind, because RIGHT when you think you can't do any more, he kicks it up a notch. My Lats, Glutes, Shoulders, Hamstrings, Chest and Abs are feeling it. My back is tight.
I liked this workout.

Day 2: Insanity Asylum: Strength

LOVED THIS ONE! What you have to know is that I'm a weights girl. I LOVE to lift. SO this video was right up my alley. I LOVED this!
Shaun T takes you to the point where you think that you can't do anything else, and then makes you PUSH HARDER. So far so good...this workout is TOUGH.
Well, here are my thoughts....

Day 1: Insanity Asylum. Speed and Agility

For about 60 seconds, I wasn't scared. BUT THEN...WOW. Shaun-T pushes you to go deeper than you ever have before. In his words, "the work doesn't start until it starts to hurt". HUH? LOL!
Speed and Agility forces you to FOCUS. Focus on your core, your foot placement, your pace, your body. Right when you think that you can't do another thing, Shaun-T tell you to MOVE. In all the workouts  do, I find someone to follow: to keep my eye on and keep up with them. In TurboFire it's Shilo Nelson, Monica Gray, or Toni Cook.  In ChaLEAN Extreme it's Janelle Summers. In P90X its Rhea. In Insanity Asylum it was Mike French....yeah. What the heck was I thinking?!?!?
The workout was TOUGH but I was able to push through. But it was TRULY a matter of talking myself through with positive reinforcement...All those fricking Walking push ups and shoulder taps. Bear Crawls and In and Outs....You will be talking to yourself too so don't laugh. :-) Looking forward to tomorrows workout.  I hope you are all still praying for me!

Fit Test Sunday April 17, 2011

WOW. :-) So I was SUPER EXCITED to get my Autographed Copy of Shaun-T's newest program, INSANITY ASYLUM, the follow up to Insanity.

It came with LOTS of Cool stuff, including an Agility Ladder and a Speed Rope.
But I was undecided as to rather or not I wanted to do this program. Gave it some thought and Decided to do the Fit Test for Asylum... uhmm. Yeah.

  • *Did the jump rope outside (no room in my house, low ceilings, small room): The neighbors were pleased!
  • *Agil. Heisman: 7 (ouch)
  • *In & Out: 27 (omg)
  • *Lat Push ups: 12 (BARELY!)
  • *Mount Clim Sw Kicks: 46 (thought I was going to DIE!)
  • *Agil. Shoulder Taps: 4 (AND IT BURNED! FEEL ME!)
  • *X-Jumps: 15( and I hit my ceiling fan...twice!) LOL. I need more room.
  • *Moving Push ups: 4 (SERIOUSLY?? And THAT was BARELY!)
  • *Agil. Lat Shuffle: 13.5 (was a struggle)
  • *Agil. Bear Crawl: 7 (Almost skipped it, but knew better!)
15 day goal: improve each rep by 1 without feeling like imma die!
Here are my thoughts on the Fit test. My first video. OH MY! But its all about stepping outside the box. So Subscribe and follow along. I could use the encouragement!

    InSanity The Asylum

Get Ready to follow my progress for the next 30 days, starting April 18, 2011, as I push through Shaun-T's newest workout. For the next 30 days I will blog my progress, thoughts, feelings, accomplishments, struggles, videos, and more. Follow along with me! I am committed to:

    • Blogging about this daily.
    • Using Shakeology EVERY DAY (thats the easy part...I already do)
    • Being open and honest, as I KNOW its going to be a struggle.
I have my doctors permission to pursue this program, and now I'm ready to see if I can DIG DEEPER.

READ ME! Direct from the company: Who Insanity Asylum is NOT for: Beginners; pregnant women; children; people who aren’t willing to work hard; people with back, neck, joint, or other injuries; or people who don’t
consistently do high-impact exercise. I Am going to add that, if you have NOT completed a round of: P90X, INSANITY, or TURBOFIRE, and you are not an Athlete, PLEASE contact your Beachbody Coach BEFORE you purchase this program. If you do not have a Beachbody Coach, you can sign up for a free or club membership with me and I can be your coach. There are other programs that are better to begin with. It is MY opinion that this is not one of those I'll-just-jump-into-it programs.

    30 days...here we go. :-)
